Vista visual styles?

How do I make a visual style for vista? Is there certian software? I would like to start learning how to. I am quiet bored of the aero theme and don't really want to pay or pirate for windowsblinds.

Open Aero.msstyle with Resource Tuner

Export resources to PNGs

Edit PNGs = PS / GIMP / Paint .... your choice

Then replace with the orginal PNGs

Save it

Apply .

SkinStudio is free, but you will need WindowBlinds to use the themes.

Yes, people are doing it now, but it isn't always perfect. Remember that WindowBlinds can use XP WB skins and XP .msstyles with Vista, so whatever you create for XP will work. The trick is "filling in the gaps" of certain parts of the Vista GUI which WindowBlinds does quite well with it's "smartskinning" technology.

When SkinStudio 6 is released this will become much easier, but people are creating skins now such as this one.
