I'm not sure exactly how it's done in ObjectBar, but Stardock does menu removing while showing the selected window's menu in the bar.. except that program is a big clunky mess and I'd love a smaller, faster program that ACTS more like aqua (like McBar does) instead of just looking like it.

Well, I'll try... And if there are some code samples or articles/tutorials anyone can offer - I'll be glad to get a link. But I still don't like this idea.

Hmm. Funny, but... See the screeshot attached to my signature :)

BTW I don't mind developing and distributing McMenu files. Also, if you want to distribute a skin - feel free to do so, but don't forget to warn about the versions and compatibility. Skins for freshest builds are compatible with older McBar versions.

I will even include links to the most tasty McMenus and skins on my site if you wish (but I won't give hosting :( I am limited in number of files on server)

Nice app

- I suggest option for skining menus and change menus fonts .

- Also I'd like  option to change default caption (when no program is active).

I'm running it with OBfont and it looks great.

About Menu fonts: That was the feature that I was never going to make. It's the job of visual styles, I think.

About default caption: There's no default caption. You always see the text of active window. Sometimes its Progman - your Windows desktop. Or the Taskbar. See mcbar.ini for extract_productname option and use ResHacker to customize app names. This way you can even make your favorite Finder clone to have "Finder" app name :naughty:

I like the skin in the last screen.

whats it called?

I don't know the name of the theme it was made after. I saw something like that on the real Mac OS X Jaguar screenshots. I like all those metallic themes, so I made that skin. It will be deployed with new versions. I call it Titanic, but if someone of u guys knows the name of theme - please tell me.

Someone else could probably make this, once the .ini file's architecture is pretty set

(like that 3rd party configuration utility for iEx)

new screenshot looks awesome btw, Rimmer

Rimmer, I saw that you said that you were low on space on your server.

I would be more than happy to host some of your files but I only have about 150 MBs avaliable to me, so anything over that I will not be able to host.

Glad to be of assistance.

Dear skin developers, please wait a while with publishing your creations. In the next McBar release (which comes really soon) there will be at least one more new option.

Yeah, and this was never explicitly said in McBar documentation (excuse me my innaccuracy): any of two shadows can be disabled by setting both of its offsets to 0. McBar even won't enter the procedure of drawing that shadow.

Hey, dance the jigue, brave customizers! I finally made the feature of my dream. Its tiny, but McBar was made for having it. Enough words. The release will be in a few days (I need to remake the documentation, standard skins and website).

There are already 2 new features: the wrap chevron and the highly accessible close button. First fixes the problem when captured menu needs more space than McBar can provide. And the second one gives you the ability to close active window without having to aim to the close button (another good feature found in UIDesign, but this time Mac doesn't have it)

EDIT: And there's already ground for tray.
