iFido, you can't copy paste!!!!!!!!....

you should do what the readme says.. (At the bottom of the read me)..

here is alittle explaination...

Open one of the folder of the MOD Comctl32.dll and look at the name of the folder good (the on in the mod)...go to C:/Windows./WinSxS...

open both at the same time..

Copy the mod one on your DESKTOP and rename if from Comctl32.DLL to Comct32.BAK...and copy paste that renamed one to C:/windows/winsxs/ "the right folder)...rename the one in the from Comctl32.dll to Comctl32.aaa

and very fast rename the Comctl32.bak to Comctl32.Dll....

do it quick before the windows protection thingy pops up...

when you did the copy paste of eevrything..a window protection will pop up...just cancel and then YES!!.....

(now that you already did a mistake..just restart the pc and window willl fix the problem back). if not...yiks!!!....I had that same problem and I need to format..

but if you do restart the problem may be fix by windows self...

And if you change them again and they don't get change you can't do nothing about it...Cause I've did alot of times..but never get it changed!!!...

and before you do, run the replacer again!..and change the files that don't get change again!

I followed the instructions on a test machine and everything worked ok.

I have a question only. Is there a way to unistall these mods? Does the installer script perform some kind of backup?

Another thing. The bitmaps in the logon and logoff windows have not changed. Have I done something wrong?

ok..The replacer does make a backup, in your 'dllcache" folder.!!

and yes you did something wrong..but I want a screenshot to be more specific, cuase I think one file didn't get replaced by the replacer! try running the replacer again. before you do make a copy of your dllcache (the old files are in there)

I've wanted this so bad ever since first hearing about it - but when I download there's just a txt file that says "MIRROR ME" - I'm guessing that means that all the bandwidth's been used up?!? :(

The Mirror gives a 403 error - even on the homepage - which means that their site is down too.

I'm gonna cry....

Well if you wanted this so bad, you should have read the thread. You would have seen this mirror provided by Jimmy S a few posts above yours... :rolleyes:

The pack is GREAT! Everything works as advertised--almost TOO well. . .

I'm having a small problem. . . :D

My network activity icons in the system tray have been replaced by little modem icons, which makes them somewhat useless.

I would use the SysStats monitors in Y'z dock or Object Dock, but they pull 20% of my CPU resources when running.

How can I get back my regular system tray icons??

that has to be one of the most uninformed, unintelligent things I've heard in a while. SP2 is aimed at security for the home user. If you consider the security a bloat, then oh well, go back to windows 95. Sorry man, but that's a totally assinine statement to make.

I did - and I do - but I'd only just gotten in and needed to get to bed pretty much straight away because of going to work dead early in the morning.

Only that's not happening now cos I feel sick anyway lol.

But thanks for ranting cos I should have checked first really - and thanks for letting me know about that mirror :)

Downloaded (again, thanks for the link Little_Tiger) &

installed the Daminator Sys MOD Pack.

A bit difficult to get trough the readme-file, a FlyaKite-like installer would be wonderful for a possible future version ... but I think I got there.

Love the overall result.

Not everything is the same as in the screenshots, but

maybe this is because I use Style XP instead of WindowBlinds?

I vary between the vs KOL SS 2.5, TD4 or MIMIC.

BUGS (?):

- Changing VS screen lacks text

- Display settings seem to be lacking pictures?

- Floppy disk in 'Finder' is now 3? Floppy

BUt besides this I love it, and it may be my imagination,

but it seems as if my menu's are more responsive (faster)

than before the system mod...

Looking forward to next version...

may return to Flyakite in the meanwhile.

If yo did....everyone and the right way....Then you have the same problem as me....It is just not possible to change them, I also have this problem and I tried so many times to change them..(even in Safe mode) but nothing!..

I too am having this problem - the bmp above those windows just refuses to show - I've even replaced the file in the system32 folder but to no avail. :(

Anyone else found a solution yet? :(
