[release] Multi-Plugin 0.64 - iTunes 4.8 support & Foobar2000 passthrough!

Recommended Posts

Well, I've got the installer stable enough so I can release it.

If you still see "Setup Error", try running the installer a couple of times more. Even 10 times. It appears to be a random problem :/

About the Foobar2000 passthrough:

This is an experimental feature.

You must have Foobar2000 0.8.3 or later for it to work.

Enabling it will install a plug-in for Foobar2000 that will make iTunes play sound through the Foobar2000 engine.

This feature improves the sound quality, but it has several limitations:

1. Foobar2000 will not run as long as this option is enabled.

2. Foobar2000 playlists might be deleted.

3. All the iTunes sound processing features will do nothing as long as this option is enabled.

4. You will not be able to change the information of the currently playing track.

Recommended to every audiophile who is pissed off at iTunes's sound quality :)

Besides, Hebrew support for the iPod has been greatly improved. Now you can synchronize your iPod against the library and have all the hebrew songs automatically converted.

Download it here.

The next version will have an option to dump all the resources of iTunes, thus eliminating the need for the "Developer Template" skin and reducing the installer size in about 1MB. Also, it will probably have an option to remove the album art from all the songs on your iPod to save some space.

OH man... you are now GOD ... :D

but there is a slight problem.... with new plugin (even the modded one), my multimedia keys does not seem to work. I tried using Fix Multimedia Keys options.. even then it does not seem to work.

I use Samsung Trution keyboard (Model TKB3000).

Oh and By the way... that Foobar2000 passtrough is nothing short of amazing. Sometime back I have said that iTunes audio quality is quite a top-notch (honestly it really sounded better to me than other players), but I haven't heard Foobar engine then. I would like to retract by statement and join all other Audiophiles that Foobar is so far the best Audio Output I heard.

** Bows down for providing our ears such a great sound **

btw that problem with the minimizing has always been there...something to do with the way itunes is...or i may be wrong.....btw this is awseome!...anyway whats foobar?....and whats the resolution dll for?(the mplugin.dll in this thread)

Foobar is Mp3 player and more... it's mp3 organiser like iTunes and WinAMP library feature. It seems the Foobar has the best sound processing engine... and in my opinion it's true.

As for that resolution DLL goes... it's for overriding the default fullscreen resolution for iTunes default visualizer, so that it can run fullscreen on dual monitor setup.

follow this thread and you will understand : http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/showthread.php?t=25966

No it wasn`t. It surfaced with MPlugin 0.6.

Actually I think it has to do with avedesk, because I don't have multiplugin (yet) and when I play a song with iTunes open (not minimized to tray) and then exit and restart Avedesk, and then try to minimize iTunes, sometimes it doesn't minimize and I may have to exit Avedesk or iTunes to get it to work again.
