Recall
Could someone convert this widget to Avedesk for me please?http://www.kwidgets.com/forge.aspx?i=58 Link to comment
andrew_
I hate to be a killjoy, but please do not port this widget without the author's express permission. It's only fair. Link to comment
clicks
It may sound a bit wiredrawn but who asked the Dashboard Widget authors wheter their widgets can be ported? Is that fair? Link to comment
Pe8er
@clicks: please don't start it again. We've had millions of discussions like that >_> Summing up: porting dash widgets is ok, porting home-made widgets is bad. Let's stick to it, ok? Link to comment
pcm
You'll be able to do this and many other desklets when I release the AveScripter engine for AveDesk. Here's a screen shot of your request. I've only partially converted the compact mode. Link to comment

pcm
1st.I suppose with some more time I'll be able to do the exact same thing. I just need to have a bunch of images to show me how it looks exactly when running and what triggers it from changing the size. I don't have Konfabulator installed.2ndIf you read the permission file that is in the widget. The author gives FULL permission to do what we want!. Link to comment

Would it have to use sysstats? 2nd Yipee! AveScripter is a new desklet for AveDesk. It doesn't use sysstats. Its a vbscript/jscripter with XML capability. It is almost completed and will be released shortly after Ave1.3 is released. It will also include a GUI to allow less programming savvy people to create their own desklet. If you look at the screen shot you'll notice that there is a Calculator, Weather, Clock and more desklets that have been created using avescripter. I'll be posting some screen shots in the near future of the entire scripter. Link to comment
pcm
I just installed Kapsules on my system to see how it reacted. I can say that it will be able to do the same thing. Also I noticed that it doesn't seem to refresh unless I actually request a refresh. Normal? Link to comment
Pe8er
Sorry Recall, I should have posted "porting dash widgets is ok, porting home-made widgets without permission is bad." If you have permission.... Run baby, port and enjoy :) Link to comment

pcm
I'm not parsing any of your apis.. I just wanted to see how the widget looked not how Kapsules looked. I just wanted to give the Recall an answer if it would be possible to do that desklet. Please don't take it the wrong way. I'm not intereseted in parsing anyones APIs. I am a programmer after all, programmeurs ego = always think we can do it better than someone else. Link to comment
