Skinning iTunes 6? Possible?

Hey guys,

I don't know if I'm the only one who doesn't like the new look of iTunes 5/6 on Windows. The Mac version is a little bit cleaner (no boarders) but neither look good imo. Although every iTunes skin I've seen before I haven't liked, no offence to the authors of those, just not my taste. So as I sit using iTunes 4.9 I figured if there was a way to skin iTunes 6, I'd just make a skin to make it look nice and at least usable.

Ultimately, I'd like to skin it all completely (the main window) but I'd settle for removing the boarders on the left and right, they drive me nuts.

in localhosts mplugin 2.1 there is already a skin included with no borders that looks pretty much 1:1 with mac.. I'm sure itunes 6 will be skinnable once localhost updates his plugin.

I know about mtplugin, but I also knew he didn't update it for iTunes 6. I wanted to do it now

well, as long i have seen the no border version is just "cutted" about 2px left and right. therefor the shadow-effect on the sides get lost. the only good point about it is the list real non border.

bigger prob i see in skinning main background. we are limited to full-color or vertical gradient. me hoping on mtplugin, guess this will not be easy.

just because you cry that you "want it now" doesnt mean it will be released right away.. jesus.. itunes was just updated yesterday.. localhost will update his plugin on his own time.. if you cant wait , then make your own.

Well clearly you all didn't understand the point of this thread. I opened it asking if there is a way I can do it, not make localhost. You all got sidetracked I see.

so, your question is: "is there a way to skin iTunes without the program needed to skin iTunes ?"

can you guess the answer ? no, or better, write your own plugin

MPlugin has been updated and the answer is simple. You can't skin iTunes without some kind of add-on/plugin and localhost's MPlugin is the only way to do it.
