Introducing VLT 2.0 RC2. In the second release candidate many bugs found in the first round of testing were eliminated. Detailed information is in the Read Me section of the installer. This release is valid till 11/05/2006. The set of contents is not final and may change.

Представляем VLT 2.0 RC2. Во второй предварительной версии учтены указанные на первом этапе тестирования недостатки, но не все. Подробности в разделе ReadMe в установщике. Выпуск действителен до 11/05/2006. Набор компонентов не окончателен.

Announce

At the same time with the main release, there will be the Stuff Pack Summer'06, where we will include relevant (on editors' pick) skins, styles and software. You can affect the editors' choice during May.

For Russian-speaking users Feature Pack 1 will be released. It contains language-specific modified window dialogues, menus and other stuff.

So in the final shape, VLT 2.0 will consist of 3 packages.

Testing is confidential, closed and limited in time.

For testing we invite advanced users, who meet at least one of the following requirements:

Connected to Internet via Wi-Fi, X.25 or other fast technologies

Own Bluetooth, IrDA equipment, scanner, digital camera

Installed Windows XP without SP (Home/Pro), SP1 (Home/Pro), Media Center, Tablet PC, Windows Server 2003

Be sure to have 523Mb free on the system drive.

Before installation: restart your PC then do not open any file/program manually and then run the Installer.

Before using LogonSync change your wallpaper using default Windows methods (Control Panel or Explorer) and only then run LogonSync.

The report must contain:

CPU manufacturer and speed

Amount of RAM installed

Type of Graphics card (integrated or not) and amount of video memory

OS version & language, clean install or not

Date of the last Windows Update or the list of installed patches.

Redlines, comments and critics (screenshots are obligatory)

Suggestions (if you have)

If the installation is unsuccessful please specify also:

The list of Windows services deactivated manually

The list of processes executed simultaneously with the installer

Feel free to post your entries and reports directly in this.

Одновременно с основным релизом, отдельным дистрибутивом выйдет Stuff Pack Summer'06, где будут включены актуальные (по мнению редакции) обложки, стили, программы. Повлиять на выбор редакции вы можете до конца мая.

Для русскоязычных пользователей дополнительно выйдет Feature Pack 1, который содержит специфические локализированные компоненты: изменённые макеты диалоговых окон, языковые ресурсы и не только...

Вобщем, окончательно VLT 2.0 будет состоять из трёх пакетов.

Тестирование закрытое и ограничено по времени.

Для тестирования приглашаются опытные пользователи, которые подходят под одну/несколько категорий:

подключены к Интернет через Wi-Fi, X.25 или другие экзотические соединения;

обладают Bluetooth, IrDA оборудованием, сканером, цифровой камерой

установили Windows XP без сервис паков (Home/Pro), SP1 (Home/Pro), Media Center, TabletPC, Windows Server 2003

Для установки требуется 523Мб дискового пространства на системном диске

Перед установкой перезапустите компьютер и после входа в систему не открывайте самостоятельно прочих файлов и программ, запустите установщик

Перед тем как пользоваться LogonSync, смените фон рабочего стола стандартными средствами Windows (панель управления или через проводник) и только потом запускайте LogonSync.

Отчёт о тестировании должен содержать:

Данные о процессоре (изготовитель, наименование, частота)

Количество оперативной памяти

Тип видеокарты (встроенная или нет) и объём памяти.

Версию и язык OC, установка на новую (чистую) систему или нет.

Дату последнего Windows Update или перечень установленных патчей

Замечания (скриншоты обязательны)

Предложения (по желанию)

Если установка не завершилась успехом, то дополнительно укажите:

Список отключенных вручную служб

Список процессов, выполняемых во время установки

The huge request to other - state the offers and wishes on what you would wish to see in Tiger 2.0, like software, themes, tools, tweaks and other, all your offers and wishes will be investigated and if possible also included in a package.

Authors of the software which it is directly connected with updating of GUI are invited to cooperation, we are ready to include your software in package Tiger 2.0, only one condition should be observed - all graphic elements should completely conform the philosophy of the package.
