get past ntfs encryption

To delete- boot into safe mode and then take ownership of the files and you should easily be able to delete them.

if all you had to do was dulpicate the exact username to crack ntfs encryption i wouldnt trust is as far as I could throw it.

In the future you should send them to yourself using PGP. Then youll always have a (relatively secure) backup.

Remembering former password or username won't work because sipher key windows uses to ecrypt data is not just login+password, but a much longer value based on login and password. If you formatted xp then there's no way to decipher the data.
