Ertai88
I'm looking for that app or any app that can hide the menu bar (File, Edit, View etc) in Explorer. I know Styler does that, but it slows down my computer. The app I'm requesting is made by the same guy that made Styler. The link on Softpedia is dead too. Thanks, -Ertai Link to comment
KAWSquared
well, as far as i know, i don't think there are any free apps that do that. The older objectbar versions (1.6 - 1.65...all around there up to v2) include a choice to hide the menus of a ton of apps, but you have to pay to be able to get that...so i guess if you want to spend any money, thats your choice Link to comment
nightcrawler1089
There are a few .reg files around that do that too--do you not want to use those?-NC Link to comment
KAWSquared
lol wouldn't that be kinda difficult? Link to comment
Ertai88
.Reg files are fine NC, just as long as they don't mess up my compy and I can easly restore the bar.I was hoping for an app though, so I could just kill the app to resotre the bar. Here's the dead Softpedia link: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Desktop-Enhan...-Menu-Bar.shtml Link to comment
savouryspacemonkey
Working Link:http://public.planetmirror.com/pub/freewarefiles/HMB2.zip Link to comment
Bob Bobbio
If you use styler toolbar you can use this reg file http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/showthread.php?t=37493 Link to comment
Ertai88
Thanks for the link Savoury. @Bob Bobbio: I'm just worried that my computer might get messed up. Link to comment
shockme17
the application probably doesn't do anything different than wrap an interface around the two reg files. Link to comment
Ertai88
Yeah, I figured that, but it just makes things easier handle. Link to comment
SirSmiley
If someone gets me the reg file(s) I'll work at putting a script (vbs) together. This would be far simpler than running another app. Link to comment
lid
shockme17 I don't think so as the changes can be seen in real time. The reg files require a restart of the explorer window IIRC. HMB will display the menu or not in existing windows. Link to comment
jlee
I just drag the menu bar all the way to the right end of the navigational toolbar. Then I only have a dropdown menu, which saves space, is less obtrusive, and still lets you get easy access to the menu items. Link to comment
FenyX
I had a mirror to post and I've passed a long time to write this post in detail, build a setup to make it easier for you to install and all... but your board say that I can't post links. So, bye bye Aqua-Soft. This is a too frustrating board. I've worked hard for nothing even if I hate wasting my time... Shit! Admin delete my account, I have nothing to do here... Link to comment
firecracker6
woa there FenyX... don't let the complexity of this board turn you into a quitter. Remember, nobody likes a quitter.. unless you're in California and are putting down the cigarettes, maybe..Just let ppl know what you are trying to do and someone will come along and help. Think of the two scenarios:1. Working hard and getting nothing, hating your time wasted, having nothing to do here, etc.vs.2. Framing the problem; request assistance to overcome the obstacle, loving your time not wasted, gaining something for your contribution, increasing your post count to 3. Link to comment
FenyX
It's ok. I've found a cool place that lets me post to share it to my english speaking friends at "askvg[dot]com / qt - addressbar - windows - vista - addressbar - clone - for - windows - xp / #comment-3800" (remove spaces) and to my french speaking friends (Lefreut, Gavatx and vistamen, for example) in the Vista Customization Topic at CrystalXP.net. ThanksNote: "nobody likes a quitter" I don't care about peoples like me or not. I'm happy when peoples help me with their shares so I try to do the same. If your board's config refuses, it's not my prob after all... Link to comment
firecracker6
So I take it you created a QTTabbar plugin for enabling and disabling the file.. edit.. view.. menu? Well done Link to comment
