KAWSquared
lol, the forum just seems like a library of public releases or poor quality private releases :slant: Link to comment
huMAC
Well excuse us for being generous on wanting to share equal access to everyone. Most of the other GUI sites are so uptight about NFR works. If thats the case, then don't even freaking bother posting it. T_T Link to comment
SbuxBlaze
lol, the forum just seems like a library of public releases or poor quality private releases :slant:And where did you get that idea? I thought you were banned lmao. Poor Quality private releases? Ask some other people and let's see what happens with you. :slant:Plus, its NOT NFR unlike *COUGH* SOME FORUMS *COUGH* here. And anyone can join, not just your "fam of friends". And it seems to be doing GREAT, 10,000 posts coming up Link to comment

Ask some other people and let's see what happens with you. :slant:rofl relax manO_o what will happen to me? I already did ask "other people", they said the same... at least people who are customizing advocates in the community and they agree but then again im sure people have some nasty things to say about UGUIA tighter community means tighter, high quality releases. Just saying. 10 000 posts also means nothing, so.... >_> Link to comment
SbuxBlaze
Who ever said we were just a customizing community anyways? Its a general tech related stuff discussion as well. so know what you're talking about before you say it... Customizing advocates? ok.... and I wonder how old they are Tighter community, you miss out on a lot of people and while some of your releases may be "higher quality" its because you dont let any members in that don't know how to do anything Lol, you just put in people you know, your friends without letting others have an opportunity to join because they're not good enough Link to comment

But i mean, if you wanna take the noobs off our hands, by all means go ahead. Customizing advocates? ok.... and I wonder how old they are what does that have to do with anything ?! talent can come at all ages >_> Link to comment

metallicamaster3
Howabout this ? Y'all just delete all the forums, and place a redirect to ChainedToMyDesk! Then everyone is happy! . Do you guys really want to know why you got ~500 members? Because people who use Forum-motion or whatever search for it on the site. They say "oh I might like this" and go ahead and join. It's really just FM doing the work for you... Link to comment

metallicamaster3
lols. CTMD is NOT doing great... we're too lazy to promote and put ads on it and crap... we really like it this way, very quiet. Because this way we can work on all the 10,000 of crap we want to put into it without having so much weight on the forums to worry about. The plan is, to wait on the heavy broadcasting and ads, etc, until we get the site *exatcly* the way we want it. Link to comment
Markoz
See, first I'd do free hosting to see if my site gets enough traffic, if goes well, NOW will be the time to get vBulletin, which I do not like as much as phpbb can come. I don't want to waist all that money for nothing to happen Link to comment
metallicamaster3
everyone knows phpBB3 is utter crap. Link to comment

SbuxBlaze
everyone knows phpBB3 is utter crap.+1, i HATE it. My favorite out of all is IPB. If I could (not possible right now) I would use IPB on my own server Link to comment
metallicamaster3
That's how CTMD is going to work soon. Gonna happily flick off GoDaddy's outrageous conditions and use our own server on our own connection to host the site. Much faster, more efficient, etc. Which is great, because no calling tech support in india and having to wait 4 hours on hold just for them to tell you "it will be back shortly". . 2 weeks tops, just until this month runs out on GoDaddy's server... then we're free! You know what, here's a tip. If you don't want to spend money (or if you don't have it) on expensive hosting for a site, do it yourself. Back in the wee days of MySillyPC, the site ran on an old Pentium III 900MHz with 192MB of RAM, on Windows 2000. The site ran outstanding with it. So if you have an old machine laying around, with a good ISP, you're in the clear. Just shell out $10 a year for a domain and you're in business. Link to comment
