Desides
There are no Leopard Finder clones currently available. The Tiger Finder clones have all been dead projects for years, in addition. Link to comment
razar45
Can anyone make a good leopard finder clone i mean why not start the project up again? Link to comment
Raats
Can anyone make a good leopard finder clone i mean why not start the project up again? As a Leopard user myself, I believe the best (read: "reliable") Win clone to emulate the finder is still Explorer with Tom's Effect's FindeXer installed. Really, the only thing you don't have is coverflow and that emulation option is being looked at by a few developers.Looking at the Mac finder vs Win explorer the only aesthetic difference (If you have installed a leopard theme using styler, wb or visual styles and FindeXer) is that there is a slightly ugly thick grey line between the sidebar the main window (whereas Leopard has the very thin dark-grey line). For normal browsing, the above application emulates the Mac Finder almost perfectly, so its hard to imagine what more (other than a thin line and coverflow), you would want.Windows is not OS X and therefore a compromise will realistically need to be made. If you are absolutely certain you have to have a perfect OS X environment, then I suggest you get a Mac.Good luck Link to comment
Björn
But findexer won´t work with Vista, does it? Link to comment

BUTimho I need column view more than coverflow (since I move staff and column view is perfect idea for moving staff) the tabs approach is not that brilliant,But I will agree with you Raats and want to update your saing - if you want to have a perfect OS environment, then I suggest you get a Mac. I guess I made the mistake of assuming most windows users would not use (or really know of) the great functionality of the column view...BTW, not being that clued up on Vista, I have no idea if FindeXer works with that OS - Sorry Björn. alilm
I reckon this would be easy using the Adobe Air platform? Plus it would also work on Linux that way. Always a plus! Link to comment
Björn
qrazar45 , any news on your finder. Looked promissing. Link to comment
alilm
I did this in about 3 hours with adobe air (I had to learn it from scratch). The very. very basic element of this is working fine i.e. it can list folders, thats pretty much it but obviously if anyone actually wants to do this now it can be done. If anyone wants the source code i'm more than happy to hand it over. Whats in the source: - Custom window + resizing - Javascript listing of directories I've written this on my mac but obviously it would work on Linux and Windows too. I'm not going to do this myself as I don't know how many people really want this but I'm giving the oppurtunity to anyone else who wants to give it a shot. Link to comment
alilm
Because adobe air is javascript/ajax based integrating a coverflow sorta thing would be simple pimple Link to comment
memepea13
so hows it going razar45? im waiting expectantly, it looks great Link to comment
aozoi10
I hope there's been progress, but we can only hope for the best.Hey alilm, do you have that source code for the thing you were working on? It also looks promising Link to comment
schmrom
Maybe a windows developer which has good knowledge of programming wiht e.g. C# should try to develop something... Link to comment
memepea13
i have a little c# knowledge so i could try something with that but otherwise i think adobe air would be easier to make it in. so do you have that source code alilm? Link to comment
