junksierra
I've been using iTunes forever and until last week, multi-plugin with it. However, when I reinstalled Windows I decided to install the latest iTunes version (7.6.2.9) without multi-plugin. I then re-added my backed up music folders and one new album. But, despite renaming the song filenames, iTunes refuses to rename the folder in which the album is contained. The artist name is 'The Doors' and the album name is also 'The Doors' and this is what they are called within iTunes. However, the folder I added is called 'The Doors - The Complete Studio Albums' and inside that folder the album name remains 'The Doors (1967)'. I don't want to have to manually rename every artist and album I add to my music folder in Explorer as I add a lot of music regularly. Can someone please help me out here? Am I missing something blatantly obvious, or a new feature of this iTunes version? Thanks in advance,James Link to comment
shubhangam
Check if you have the "Keep my iTunes music folder organised" in Preferences ticked? Link to comment
junksierra
Yeah, that is ticked. This is so weird; any other ideas???? Link to comment
jatonblue
iTunes renames folders via the album name. make sure the album title in the music tags is what you want the folder to be.try "Advance" - "Consolidate Library" Link to comment
junksierra
Cheers for the help mate. I realised that I'd been an idiot - I hadn't changed the default music folder from 'My Music/Itunes/Itunes Music' to simply 'My Music/'. Boy is my face red. Link to comment
