dowmloaded xwd from aqua soft but cant find an install file or even a precedure. how do i install xwd?

You should have gotten a ZIP package. Unzip it, place the resulting folder in Program Files, go inside, and launch XWD.exe.

BTW, Matonga's Stack Docklet 0.9 (The best version by far) won't get its icons going.

So, problem is, I can't get icons magnification, also, how to add file to stack instead adding folder?

well xwd 2.0.2 does not have magnification...and not really needed...

and to add a stack docklet just right click on the dock and go up t o[ADD] then go down right to [plugins] then a window pops up an you can drag & drop the stack plugin...

also if you want some skins for the dock I have some in my deviantart account gallery: (click here to view the gallery)

or we have a pretty good collection for skins on Windows dock...at #Windocks or at #idock in deviantart

if you want to check them out...:)

Hi.

Please, ask your questions and problems with XWDock 2.0.0.0 here.

Some information about "how to":

1. Hold on the separator and move mouse to resize the dock, or hold on Shift to move the dock to another edge of the screen

2. Click on icon to run an application or activate the old one, or hold on Ctrl to run the copy of the application

3. Use drag&drop as much as possible. Drop icon (.png, .ico...) on any of dock's icons to setup a new one. Or drop any file onto dock's icons to run, open, copy and move it inside.

4. Now, when you drop Recycler Bin, empty it to setup an icon for the empty state, and fill in it to the full state.

5. Place your OD Docklets to Docklets\ folder, XWD 2.0 Plugins into Plugins\ one.

Hi I Have Xwindows Dock 2.02 and i have Exposé Working but unfortunatly it only works for one application (My Computer) so if you would be able to make xwindows dock's EXposé work for all applications

Thx for answers

well it does not work the same as in osx when you drag & drop a shortcut in the stack i think...

but you can always make a folder full of what ever shortcuts you may want and then link the stack to that folder were ever it may be you know if you may not know how after that just send me a message and then I will take screenshots for you if you want but their are some few tutorial in youtube on how to use xwd 2 or even the stack docklet although they may not explain it as well as a XWD2 power user like me...naw no joking

but yes

hey there... need some help!

I'm trying to create a skin in 2d mode which would extend from one endge to the other of the screen much like the one in the screeshoot bellow and it seems impossible to do this in xwd2 skinning system... can someone confirm this?

Screenshot here

no it is not impossible man...you would have to create and image as wide as your monitor...or create and image which hold all the details in a smaller contain place of the image and manipulate and measure the right amount of which distance everything is...but as it is very difficult to get things right in xwd 2 skinning system.b/c there may be some re-sizing issues as-well...

(or you can always make a transparent skin & just add the background in your wallpaper which will save a-lot of time and stress...=)

When i take control of my PC with Remote Aplications (LogMeIn)

http://img827.images...200/errorgx.jpg

haha...samething happens to me and maybe other folks...well i think it happens for some reason....don't know the exact one but

-that happens with me when i may have a miss calculation when creating a theme

-or when (explorer) crashes...

-or even when you change the main monitor... but their may be other reason

but you can solve it by restarting explorer. and it will go back down. or by just restarting xwd2 and maybe changing skin:)

I'm telling you it's impossible bro... tried all the solutions before posting for help here... I know how the skinning system of xwd2 works and it's not really that difficult since they are all logical setting... but neither in theory nor does in pratice this doesn't work and I'm wondering if maybe there's something that Bobah knows and we don't.

Maybe you can prove me wrong and you can make it work... in which case I'll be glad if you could!

About the background trick... used to do that way back when using Litestep or BBLean... this is not really that big of deal, just curios if xwd2 can do this or maybe will be able to do this in a future version!

i might well be a bit of a retard but i'm using the XWD 2.0.2.0 version and i have it working okay but is there a way of it showing you what programs your using at the moment as mine just has the buttons to start an application/program but not a link to reopen something you've minimised...

hope that makes sense

if you mean the indicator [yes] just add the actual .exe application to the dock and not the shortcut...

or if you mean to open an already minimized app just press [ctrl +left click] or [shift + left click] i think

or showing a picture/screenshot of a open app no not at this moment.:)

Hello guys, I'm new to this wonderful app, I have W7HP, but I've a problem, I recently downloaded it it runs great and everything, but after seeing screenshots and all that stuff, I realized that the dock didn't came with the imac-looking pc, nor with the gears icon, nor the posted design for the recycle bin, or the stacks app. Also when I turn off the computer and restart it, all the extra icons, the stacks, the skin, everything is gone, but the 3 icons it came with (recycle bin, system and system (yeah system 2 times).

Also could you tell me where to find plug-ins (docklets) for it?

Your help will be very much appreciated

Hello everyone!

I just can't decide which dock I'll finally use.

I'm currently indecisive between XWindowsDock 2.0, XWindowsDock 5.6 and Nexus Dock.

The thing I'm missing in XWindowsDock 2, is the ability to at least minimize to the dock?

The features of 2.02 on the homepage don't apply on mine either: there are no bouncing icons when I press on one or when Skype gets a message.

XWindowsDock 5.6 has more function to me, but I have the same 'problem' with the fact that there's almost no way to get Skype or WLM notifications to bounce in the dock.

That leaves me with Nexus Dock: there I have the taskbar available in the dock... but it isn't as beautiful as XW5.6 and doesn't include minimizing with the Genie-effect.

Can anyone help me with the XW 2.0 part?

Thanks :)

Hi everyone!

Hope i'm not OT, but, if here we can post about XWD problems, i have one for you...let's start

First of all, i use Windows XP Professional SP3 on my office laptop, with a particular configuration in which the whole "Documents and Settings" folder is in D: partition, while C: is used for the OS (i think this can help).

When I add, and afterwards remove a link to an application, in the items.ini still remains the same number of items i have before removing the item, but - oddly - the missing item is substituted by a recycle bin copy (and in the dock i have 2 recycle bin icons), so i have to remove the item whether from dock and items.ini.

I admit this is not a real problem, just a nuisance (and maybe it can depend on my specific system configuration, or is simply my ignorance, i don't know), but perfection is in the little things...someone had my same problem, or an idea to resolve this issue?

Thank you all in advance!!!

Hi

I have just one question, is there a way to make the Dock (2.0.0. beta) stay on desktop when you click the "Show Desktop" (far to the right in the taskbar) "icon" in Windows 7? What I mean is, to have all windows (programs) minimize, but the Dock still up?

Thanks

i second that!!

we really need option "pin to desktop" or something like that. i would really appreciate it if you implement that feature.

thanx

The solution is easy. You should drag and drop exe file of the app you want to add, not just a shortcut. Put e.g. Skype.exe from Skype dir on the dock and then you will see change. XWDock creates internal shortcut automatically. Don't know if it working with "when Skype gets a message" part, but i guess it should.

Did i mention I'm totally in love with XWdock ? ^^

Bug Report:

I found out there is a bug with items.ini file. All my icons disappeared and items.ini became cleared out. Luckily i've made a backup of that file before it happened. Please, fix it in next release.
