Help Playing Subtitles In An .avi File (Movie) Using Mac

Big problem for me here (maybe easy for anyone else I hope), I read a topic that show how to do it in this forum.. follow every step (http://www.aqua-soft.org/forum/topic/32801-lucida-grande-from-mac/), and I can't seem to work it out. It seems I can't add a lucida grande font to my Mac .. tells me fail to load font file. I can't add it to my font folder.. cause Mac tells me in conflicts and whats me to throw it to the trash. Is it that the font is not compatible with my mac version (10.6.3) or what am I missing??
