Older versions had problems saving Icon settings. Now, on to my problem.Im having problems adding icons to my dock with the arguments. When I had the first version, it was working fine. Now, when I add icons with arguments (this specific one is Dial-Up Networking) and I click on the icon, it says "The path "::{A4D92740-67CD-11CF-96F2-00AA00A11DD9}" does not exist or is not a directory. I have tried other shortcuts, and still, nothing.Help? Anyone? Or can anyone tell me how to find out the argument code on my computer? Thanks! Link to comment
fireball
The path should be: "C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe ,,::{A4D92740-67CD-11CF-96F2-00AA00A11DD9}" and not just the "::{A4D92740-67CD-11CF-96F2-00AA00A11DD9}" Link to comment
bill
ok, well, i verified it on 2 machines now. that dialup networking link is a dud. I NEED ONE ! (for link) if anyone can get me the argument for dial up networking, lmk, it would be greatly appriciated. Link to comment
VideoMann
This is not a tip but an observation that is worthwhile to keep in mind. How many icons can the dock take? Well,...as you add icons (PNGs) to the dock the overall size of the dock and the individual icons shrink to accomodate yet another icon.At a resolution of 800x600 , I have fitted 37 icons. The icons look the size of a pencil eraser but still distinguishable AND they magnify nicely to 128x128. The dock may probably take 5-6 additional icons before they all become way too small. This gives you a good idea of how flexible Y's dock is. Link to comment
InTrIgue
I love the dock works good and very fast! Only prob I have is that I can not take a screenshot with the dock in it! I am using 32 bit I also tried trans and non trans with background and still can not get the dock in the screenshot even on mouse over when the shot is taken. I do not have autohide on or anything. Find the Search Icon (magnifying glass).2 Drag it to any folder ( ex. Program Files ). This will create a shortcut. c:\Program Files\&Search3 Change the name &Search to Search or Find or whatever4 Drag the shortcut to the Y's dock and in the link box place the site of the shortcut (in this example c:\Program Files\Searchthat is it. ( the first time you use search it may take a couple of seconds then it works fast )This does not work...But an alternate way is to do the following...Using a script. Create a new textfile and enter these lines:Dim objShellSet objShell = CreateObject("Shell.Application")objShell.FindFilesSave and rename the file to find.vbs. Now simply link to the file with the Dock or a regular shortcut. Link to comment

VideoMann
I think I know why on Y's dock version .40 & .41 not every icon bounces. In the property window for the icon, under "Link to:" if you place the path with quotation marks the icon will launch the app or folder but it will not bounce. If you remove the quotation marks it will bounce.Ex:Link to : " C\Program Files\Nantucked.exe" <==> Icon will launch Nantucked.exe but icon will not bounceLink to: C\Program Files\Nantucked.exe" <==> Icon will launch Nantucked.exe and it will bounceI don't know why other apps do not show the arrow when launched. Just IE and Netscape. Link to comment

hallf
I just noticed with v0.5 if you have shortcuts to removable drives on the dock (like CD/DVD drive) you can now right-click the dock icon and eject the media - mondo cool addition - I've been hoping one of the docks would incorporate it. Find the Run Icon on the right hand side. 2) Open up Explorer and drag the Run icon from your start menu to any folder....for example the root of C:\ This will create a shortcut named C:\&Run... (or something similar) 3) Now right-click and rename that &Run... shortcut to just: Run 4) Drag any other .exe or link to Y's dock...right-click 'Property of Dock Item' and in the 'link to' and 'Work Folders' place the link to the Run shortcut (on my box this is C:\Run) Works on my box..hope that works for you guys Link to comment

odyssey
I'm not wanting to close windows but the dock. If I ever need to close it for any reason I have to go to taskmanager and close it that way. If there was a way to close itself from the dock, that would be great.OD Link to comment
hallf
Just right-click on the separator and choose "Quit" Link to comment
