chrislee149
Heh. Was just trying to get my MS Natural MultiMedia keyboard working with iTunes, so I configured them to run the iTunes remote (also by localhost). Wonder if this would do the same thing. The MS software had built-in support for iTunes, but what annoyed me was that Play/Pause only seemed to play, not pause. Link to comment

fatjoe
Localhost I have Multiplugin instead of this but I'm guessing multiplugin uses somethign similar.can you modify this so that if the Previous or Next keys are held down the track fast forwards/rewinds? I don't have ffwd /rwnd buttons just Previous & Next on my multimed keyboard so this would be handy Link to comment

dave double u
I have an HP usb cordless kit, and the keyboard has playing controls, but they only work when iTunes is on focus. This plug-in is what i was looking, but cuak... it doesn't work for me...Also i can't get winamp to work with the keysIt's acutally kinda funny, I used this plug-in for a long time and it worked perfectly. The only thing was that it would only work if I made sure that the iTunes window was out of focus the first time I hit the play button on the keyboard, during a new session. When I recently formatted my system, I found out that the "fix the media keys" option in mPlugin (mode 2) works even better. If you choose to go with this plugin (not mPlugin) make sure you copy the dll to the correct paths (see Minsky's post above). Link to comment

stuartm
Thanks a lot for this fix. Works perfectly with itunes 7.0.2.16. The most recent itunes update had overwritten my previous solution to this problem. Link to comment
kylenn
Thank you very much! To anyone else wondering where the iTunes Plug-Ins subdirectory is, all you have to do is make one from scratch. Link to comment
smaug33
Sorry, but it's still not working. I'm using an HP multimedia keyboard, running Win XP. Updated with new driver from HP (file ver. 4.1.100.1332). I copied the mmKeys.dll file to all of the directories listed, but still the same problem: the keyboard play/pause/stop/prev/next buttons only work when iTunes is the active window. (Volume knob always works.) Any ideas? Link to comment
dave double u
... the keyboard play/pause/stop/prev/next buttons only work when iTunes is the active window. (Volume knob always works.) Any ideas? As I mentioned earlier, I never got rid of this quirk myself. Upon a restart, make sure iTunes is running but out of focus the first time you hit the play button on your media keyboard. The "Mode 2" media key functionality in the latest mPlugin solved the issue for me completely. kevin420
Hi, this was working well at first but then i updated itunes to 7.1. Now it still works, but when i press the any of the buttons, it does the action twice. Any help would be appreciated. EDIT: Sorry, it seems that itunes now works without that .dll, so i removed it and its now working perfectly . Link to comment
